The Rose Quarter

The Rose Quarter is a jewel in the rough, offering an amazing opportunity to bring life to this area of the City and act as a fulcrum for much of the State and region. Perfectly situated on the light rail, bus routes, and future street car lines, ingress and egress can be easily accommodated. Our proposal will bring over 1 million people to the area, revitalizing the area and benefiting the State, City, and Community.

There are have already been countless planning exercises over the last 20 years attempting to resolve a number of conflicts and shortcomings in the Rose Quarter District. The incremental development of the area over the past 50 years has led to a disjointed and incoherent sports district that is only capable of being utilized by a small number of sports and large scale entertainment events on a handful of occasions and rarely at the same time. The Portland Development Commission has challenged our community to come up with a number of alternatives that developers and designers can utilize to develop a final vision that can be built with limited to no public funding and still bring a life back to the district that can rival that of downtown Portland. The following plan was developed to clearly show the areas that are ripe for redevelopment.

On Tuesday, January 26th, 2010, Adam Wagner presented our concept vision for the redevelopment of the Portland Memorial Coliseum and Rose Quarter to include the Portland Action Sports Complex and Resort.

You can see a video of the presentation on our blog, or in slightly better quality on Youtube.

The next important date is the 29th of January. We are very fortunate to have Beam Development as part of our team. If you, or anyone you may know, would want to be a part of our team, please let us know via our contact form, or call Adam directly for further information.

Please feel free to express any support you have for our alternative either to us directly, or to the members of the committees that will be making the decisions on who to invite to the next stage of the RFP process.
