Adam Wagner

Adam is a landscape architect by training, but an entrepreneur by heart. He has a deep love of outdoor sports and is an avid surfer.  In 2003 he joined John Forse and Jim Kusz at Behemoth, LLC,  which has successfully organized and promoted the Nelscott Reef Tow in Classic for five consecutive years.  The 2009 Event was held in early October, and was a tremendous success.

The Nelscott Reef Tow In Classic has become the world’s premier tow in event with contestants traveling from all over the world to compete. This big wave contest is held 1/2 mile offshore of Lincoln City, Oregon near the Nelscott Reef. With a holding period of Oct. 1 through Dec. 31, organizers wait for a swell large enough to produce 30 foot or greater waves.

Through his success with the Nelscott Reef Tow In, he has been able to engage a number of high profile companies and surfers that have expressed enthusiasm and interest in the Portland Action Sports Complex and Resort.

Adam was also deeply involved in the production and development of a feature film documentary based on the Nelscott Tow In; The Find: Claiming Nelscott Reef.  The film made it’s debut at Hollywood Theater in Portland on November 18th, 2009 to tremendous acclaim; the theater had to turn away nearly 300 people.  Additional showings are planned for January of 2010 and the makers will be taking the film to a number of film festivals over the next year.

On Tuesday, January 26th, 2010, Adam Wagner presented our concept vision for the redevelopment of the Portland Memorial Coliseum and Rose Quarter to include the Portland Action Sports Complex and Resort.

You can see a video of the presentation on our blog, or in slightly better quality on Youtube.

The next important date is the 29th of January. We are very fortunate to have Beam Development as part of our team. If you, or anyone you may know, would want to be a part of our team, please let us know via our contact form, or call Adam directly for further information.

Please feel free to express any support you have for our alternative either to us directly, or to the members of the committees that will be making the decisions on who to invite to the next stage of the RFP process.
